Rapid Prototypes
Rapid Prototypes
Midwest Composite has been offering SLS Rapid Prototyping since 1994.
To create your prototype we can use a nylon or a glass filled nylon (SLS) or Stainless Steel or Cobalt Chrome Metal (DMLS) powders to create prototype parts. The powder is melted, layer by layer, by a computer-directed heat laser. Additional powder is deposited on top of each solidified layer and again sintered.
The SLS process provides the most functional rapid prototype available.
Parts are usually done in as little as 24 hours or several days depending on size of part.
No part is too complex.
Quick validation of visual and mechanical properties.
Our newest Additions make plastic parts as large as 15"x28"x24" in 1-piece, but parts are not limited to that size.
For larger scale prototypes we combine processes to best fit a solution.
