Model Shop
Our experienced Model Shop personel including the engineering staff and craftsmen can fabricate an array of different models that will suite any and all of your requirements. Whether it's a demonstration piece, show model or a working prototype we have the ability to exceed your expectations. Midwest Composite Technologies, Inc. can take sketches or CAD files to create models or working prototypes from a wide selection of materials and processes tailored to your specific needs, time and cost constraints. This department especially enjoys a challenging project!
SLS/DMLS/3-D Printing - Prototypes and Models
With SLS prototype technology, Midwest Composite's SLS and Rapid Prototyping Department can create durable, metal and plastic parts directly from any solid CAD model in just days - and without dependence on costly tooling. Our SLS prototypes can be made from powder thermoplastics, thermoplastic elastomers, metals and composites, eliminating the need for machining, tooling, casting or other secondary processes - and saving you time and money. An SLS prototype can help you beat your competition to market. Using this technology, Midwest's SLS Department can help your product development team create better products in less time. Test for form, fit, and function off working prototypes - and identify errors early in the design process, prior to manufacturing.
Injection Molding
Midwest's Injection Molding Department works closely with our customers to establish the most cost effective way to bring your project to completion. We'll help you from the conceptual stage of the design process as well as in material selection. Our technologically advanced equipment allows Midwest to tackle even the most complex of projects while maintaining your specification requirements. In-house flow analysis, modern CNC equipment, rapid prototyping and state of the art CAD/CAM computer systems ensure that your parts will work right the first time without requiring time consuming reworks which minimizes your investment in tooling.
FRP Molding
Midwest Composite's Injection Molding Department specializes in short run injection molding. Our in-house tooling is geared towards low cost and quick time to production. We can mold with many different materials, including structural foam, to suite our customer's requirements. Secondary operations can also be incorporated to produce features that would be costly to mold in. Composite and RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) parts can be provided in a variety of materials with a variety of mold options. From low cost epoxy molds to high volume aluminum molds we can provide a solution to meet our customer's requirements. Full trimming and finishing operations can be be added to suite whatever your requirements may demand.
Finishing
Midwest's Finishing Department offers a wide range of finishing operations such as painting, texturing, graphics and labeling application, trimming and machining which can be added to parts from any of our molding processes. Additional features can be added to parts that our molding processes cannot easily form. We are able to color match to our customers specifications with either color molded injection parts or painted parts.
Not only do we design & fabricate molds to manufacture components, we can provide value added assembly services. Our diverse industry experience offers us the ability to perform light to medium volume assembly operations.
